Creating Our Insights Team Story Using AI
What happens when you stop looking at Insights Discovery profiles individually and start looking at them as a collective?
That was the question I found myself asking recently. I’ve always loved Insights Discovery and the simple language it gives us for understanding ourselves and others, but I wanted to explore what our profiles could tell us about us as a team.
So, on a sunny Friday afternoon, I decided to have a little creative fun with AI. What started as an experiment quickly became something much more meaningful.
From Individual Profiles to a Team Story
I brought together each person’s Insights profile, key strengths and colour energy preferences, then started looking for patterns.
Some of us naturally build relationships. Others bring structure, precision and quality. Some create momentum and challenge us to move forward, while others bring creativity, enthusiasm and possibility.
Individually, these strengths are interesting. Collectively, they tell a much bigger story.
We discovered a particularly strong foundation of Earth Green, reflecting relationships, trust, empathy, and support, balanced by Cool Blue’s focus on quality and expertise, Fiery Red’s pace and action, and Sunshine Yellow’s creativity and optimism.
Bringing the Story to Life
I used ChatGPT as a creative partner, exploring different ways to represent our collective strengths visually.
The roots represent trust, relationships, and care.
The trunk represents knowledge, expertise, and quality.
The branches represent action, energy, and momentum.
And the leaves and fruit represent creativity, possibility, and growth.
Each person has their own place within the tree, but no part works in isolation. The tree needs all of it to thrive.
Why Is This Useful?
We often use Insights Discovery to understand ourselves: how we communicate, make decisions, work with others and what our natural strengths are.
But taking the next step and asking, “What does this tell us about our team?” creates a different level of insight.
It helps us recognise where our strengths complement one another and appreciate the different perspectives people bring.
Someone who naturally moves quickly may benefit from someone who checks the detail. Someone who generates ideas may need someone who enjoys turning them into a plan. Someone who focuses naturally on relationships can help ensure the human experience remains at the heart of what we do.
Our differences aren’t problems to solve. They’re strengths we can use intentionally.
From Self-Awareness to Team Awareness
For me, this exercise reinforced why I love Insights Discovery so much.
The real value isn’t simply knowing your own colour energy. It’s what happens when individual self-awareness becomes shared awareness.
We don’t need everyone to communicate, think, or work in the same way. In fact, we’d be weaker if we did.
Our strength comes from the combination of people who care deeply about relationships, protect quality, drive action, and inspire possibility.
And that’s something any team can explore.
Start with your team’s Insights profiles, look for the patterns and differences, and then ask:
What are we naturally good at?
How do our strengths complement one another?
What experience do we create for our clients because of these strengths?
The visual is simply the starting point.
The conversation it creates is where the real value lies.
Perhaps the most important question isn’t:
“What are my strengths?”
but:
“What can we create together because of our different strengths?”
For our team, that’s a story we continue to write each day.
